Well, the reason Moore got fired was for violating a school policy that was put in place after the Provost did the same thing... which then also got the President fired.
I agree UCLA shouldn't be bailed out - even more so because the university itself is apparently operating at a $1 billion deficit. So, both wrong.
Listen, you can argue that after what has happened at Penn State, Michigan State and Ohio State (all worse than Michigan) they shoudln't have sport at all, and you can also say that about the national teams too (not exactly controversial given the cesspool that is the IOC as well). But we know that most of the powers behind higher education (which is to say politicians who are no better than boosters, and actual boosters) would never do that, nor sever sports entirely (and even if they did they would be private companies where the schools either had an equity or licensing stake, which the Big 10 is already trying to do).
