OT: Best Cheap Seats / Section at CBP

I had not thought about the city view. This is why I thought to ask the hive mind for their thoughts. Hope to hear a few more ideas!

I think 400 level is still fine if you're not too high up. and the energy is best up there. I'd rather be 400 closer to home than 300 further down the lines. The Harry the Ks seats can also be fun but that's probably about the same price as 100 level down the lines.

Does the game need to be sold out for an SRO ticket or are they only sold on the day of the game? Just curious. Still mulling my options

I don't think it has to be sold out but you might be right about day of game. I'd personally rather pay the extra four or five bucks to have a seat and fixed location, though even at these more crowded games I'm sure it's possible to still find your way into a section (depends on the usher and the section usually). I just can't imagine fighting for a good spot by the bullpens or on the concourse.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have seats in the 300 level behind home plate. Now on to finding a reasonable place to stay one night - that may be the real challenge!

Days Inn by Wyndham in Cherry Hill is pretty inexpensive and clean. Nothing special, but pretty close to the park. You can get rooms for under $100 through some of the booking services.

Airport hotels usually available for less than $100 too, if one is driving. Center City usually has some decent Priceline deals but it all depends where the market is. I'm trying to book a hotel room in NYC that same week and it's brutal.

Hilton Honors is showing the Doubletree in Cherry Hill at $107 (one room, night of the 13th). Doubletree at the airport is $149. Marriott's best price ($105) is in Willow Grove.

September is tough in NYC if the UN is in session. Traffic is also brutal and many streets are restricted.

Taking a chance on an Airbnb with a 15 min walk. Reviews decent mentioning walking to the stadium complexes and under $100. Will Uber if I question the walk. Thanks for all the suggestions

I think things are just expensive all the time right now. Brooklyn as well.

@BaseballCat I can probably tell you how and if to walk (but it is almost certainly fine, there may be a few blocks to avoid if you walk back at night depending where). 1 night ABnBs are usually tough to find too!

Appears to be on S 10th Street a few blocks north of 76. Not quite sure how to private message here and getting ready to run out the door. Any advice wonderful

oh yeah you are good to go, 10th is easy and close. a couple of the pedestrian crossings could be better but that's about it safety-wise.

Thank for the info. I will be fairly close to a Walgreens. Hope it is just a straight shot down to CBP. Sure going under the Schuylkill will be fun. I don’t miss that road - lol

Absolutely a straight shot though that Walgreen's no longer exists (and was not what you'd imagine, a tiny corner pharmacy that they somehow owned). Definitely not a tourist neighborhood but you've got your pick of cheesesteaks & pizza joints and all the bar/restaurants people already go to before or after games (South House, Philadium, South Philly Tap Room and of course Chickie & Pete's isn't far).

You can bring food into the stadium but can't carry it in a backpack, smaller containers such as fanny packs and tote bags I think are allowed.

This is my first baseball season here since 1985! And Les has moved on from CLW alas.
