Still a big drop in the price of Hans Crouse stock though - not what we were sold when he supposedly made the Gibson and Kennedy deal looks so good. Of course we're not exactly missing Spencer Howard.

I'm glad they kept Crouse. I think he's going to make it.

Well it is not like they "kept" him. He has no rights to leave until he accrues enough time to get minor league free agency. All the players above must have passed through waivers, so we just kept him by letting every other organization have a shot at him. Teams are all clearing 40-man space now, but if he was still viewed anywhere close to as well as he was viewed a year ago someone would have claimed him.

correct. I should have said I was just happy he stayed in the organization, for now. I think if he recovers from his injury, he will be a a part of the staff in a few years.

Now, if the various powers that be will just share the assorted winter roster assignments that will happen in the next three days with us... November 15th appears to be the deadline for setting winter rosters at all levels. In the past, that information has been held more closely than certain TS/SCI documents appear to have been.

I complained about the various rosters (reserve lists) not being on the official websites many years ago and received a reply that the PTB did not want to confuse the fans with this information since the level that a prospect might play at next season is often different than the level reserve list the player is on during the winter. I think most serious fans realize this and I have always considered this reply to be condescending. I cannot see any valid reason to not have this information on the official websites of each team. I will say that there is much more information available now than was the case not too many years ago.

Unconfirmed at this point. Will be 24 in 2023, played at A and High-A in 2022. Presumably a minor-league deal:

It is that time of year where small international signings trickle through with little information. In this case in October the Phillies signed Angel Ferreras a 6'4" 190lb RHP with no other information on the player page.

Along with the Tayler Scott DFA we also added a AAA catcher.

Probably clears the way to move the 4th catcher off the 40 when they need a spot though McDowell is just not a major league hitter.

Steve Potter is reporting that Nick Ward has signed a minor league contract with the Phillies.
