Historically true, but I wish I could write them off that easily. They still won 101 games in 2022 and got to the NLCS last year. And were smart enough to tank quickly in '23. It's pretty early in Stearns' tenure, too, and he has a great track record. Whether Cohen makes it harder for him to do his job versus our owner or LA is a possibility of course.
And if the Phillies are better-run, they'd be even more so if they were willing to spend like the Mets or Dodgers! Or if they could actually develop.
Right now we have the luxury of saying Max Kepler looks like a better signing than Juan Soto though.
