I think the promotions will come after the draft, when they start shuffling players from Lakewood forward.
Kingery and Pullin almost have to get promoted, they're killing time in Reading.
Though where do you play Pullin in Lehigh? Kingery at least has a wide open spot.

There is real value in having Crawford and Kingery play together in the minors this season. Really, I see no reason to promote Crawford until this minor league pairing of our future DP combo has had a month or more to develop.

Yeah, really dumb. Let's ruin another prospect. Where else can he play? Probably LF, but we've got a ton of guys who have to play LF. It won't get him any MLB playing time before August anyway, as Pete won't sit his vets. Altherr is only playing because Kendrick was hurt. Otherwise he'd be just another of our ruined prospects.

I don't know. This talk of moving Kingery sounds like the media is generating this here. A Phillies employee gives a nebulous "maybe" and the writer just runs with it. Maybe if Kingery could play third but otherwise no. And, trying Utley at third when it became apparent that Rolen wasn't long for the organization didn't work out.

I expect Hernandez to be traded by the trade deadline. He has real value to a contending team and we look to have a good replacement. Joseph could be traded by the deadline but the return may not justify it. It may be more likely that Joseph or Hoskins are traded over the offseason.

Hernandez won't be traded this year b/c Kingery isn't ready, he needs at least a half season in AAA ball.
And they may wait until next July, depending on Kingery's progress.
It's more a matter of finding ways to get Kingery PAs and not being forced into a bad trade by "fire saling" Hernandez.
Keep all your options open.

Who said Kingery would replace Hernandez on the big club this year? Next year maybe if he is ready. This is a lost season so anyone can fill in on the big club. Now is probably the time when Hernandez has the greatest trade value.

Kingery will probably be up in September assuming he goes to AAA in a few weeks. It is very possible the Phillies will think he is ready by the end of the year.

They have a 1B decision to make in July. Then 2B in the offseason.

Randolph is putting the Mendoza line in his rear-view mirror. Many of our higher ranking kids are growing into and adapting to their new leagues. Nice to see.

Randolph is 9-15 over his past four games and methinks his demise was greatly exaggerated. He is a 19 year old playing in High A ball and well could make his AA debut at Reading at 20 years of age.

If he stays healthy he has a chance to become a very good LF prospect.

20 is plenty young for A+. It's going to take more than a good 4 games or even a good couple of weeks to re-establish C's cred. As a LF-only guy, and not a plus defensive LF, there is a high bar for his bat to clear for him to become a plus or even an average MLB starter. Within the Phillies organization, he has so much competition from guys like Cozens and Pullin, who have better bats.

It will be a while until we have to worry about C-Randolph in LF. Altherr/Quinn/Williams/Cozens/Pullin will get their shots at corner OF positions first. And, if Perkins keeps hitting, he'll get a chance, too. I think Randolph will have to force his way to Philly, and we'll see if that happens over the next 2-3 years.
