I have a feeling Pullin was close to being released anyway. Too bad for him but there was just zero chance a non-roster player hitting .171 was going to get called up. Unfortunately for him the key moment in his development was probably his move away from 2B. While he probably had less pressure defensively, he also never really had the offense one would want to see in a corner outfielder and he had fallen behind the Danny Ortiz type AAA long termers for any sort of major league injury replacement consideration.
