I don't think he was really auditioning for the rotation (in any round), they just wanted to see as much of him as they could. If there's an extra innings game late in the NLDs it would make sense to consider using him versus burning Nola for possible Game 1 or 2 in NLCS. But is he ever better than Walker? Dunno, but yeah, he is overall tonight.

Of course not, with the 3 LH he is a better fit in the pen. I'd start Nola over him too even with his struggles. I think Buehler is better than Walker and has been before tonight. I do not see a role for Walker in the playoffs..

I certainly don't think Buehler has been any better than Walker overall this year. But, recently, and with a playoff history. Thing is what they need from him is not length or starts, they might need him to better than Kerkering or Robertson in a more traditional role!
