The Phillies have now won 7 games against the Nationals this year in which they once trailed by at least 3 runs.

Have to give Herrera credit in this run. He’s played well. I don’t know if his teammates have embraced him or not but he’s showing up at game time. If he’s cleaned up his off of the field stuff, he might be worth bringing back next year with a renegotiated contract.

I guess it feels that way but he did go 5-11 with 4 BB, a 2B, and a HR for a 1.418 OPS. I think we kind of dodged a bullet with him this week. Not many runners on and some fly balls just stayed in the park.

Five scoreless innings from the bullpen. It makes a huge difference. Falter was very bad giving up the two hits to add runs to Nola’s ERA, but the rest of the relievers were quite good.

Can’t say enough about the offense again today. Frankly, I’ll admit I thought this one was lost after five innings. Great come back yet again.

Our mojo crew was stretched about as thin as the bullpen in pulling this one out. Gibson may have to pitch nine strong tomorrow.

So do I get credit for the Mets picking up Brad Hand after noting he was available and we actually don't have many reliable left-handed options in the bullpen without Suarez? Mojo can be pretty powerful.

Technically Moore was supposed to be our #2 lefty reliever. I suppose with the three-batter rule, and with Neris pitching earlier innings (he's not as good against them but is certainly used to facing them regularly) they get by. And there's Falter too (yesterday aside, not too many relievers can get out of a jam like that anyway). Obviously Hand's been bad enough that going with what they have is understandable.

The reality is that we do not have any decent left on left alternative, though Alvarado can at least make the Juan Sotos and Freddy Freemans of the world uncomfortable with 100 mph under the chin (or thereabouts with his command).
