Al Oliver, youâre on deck!
And yet....
Guess the Phillies might skip that part (I.e. the are going to clinch the East w/o first clinching a WC. Ideally).
This is just an incredible run. Can they keep it going?
Giants lose today, Phils lose tomorrow, Mets win tomorrow, Giants lose tomorrow is the only way I see how the Phils can get a wildcard berth ahead of the division.
Probably not? Ironic that there is urgency to lock up that playoff seed, which will also guarantee an end to momentum if they still have it on 9/29. Regardless, a little hiccup on the West Coast and a slower finish probably not the end of the world. And they're doing all of this with guys missing and only so-so starting pitching (lately).
Not looking good for the Cards now
