Yesterday’s win was special; tonight’s win feels different - kind of like we got something we didn’t deserve.

Sanchez deserved a win but that is baseball. Great pitching last night and tonight. Phillies had multiple chances to score but struggled in several innings tonight. Can't have runners thrown out at third and home and expect to win, but somehow, tonight they did.

I missed the game but according to the boxscore, it looks like Sanchez was Sanchez again after a run of borderline-shaky starts. Duran allowed two baserunners in another high-wire-act save.

He only allowed one hit over two innings, had a HBP in the 9th and a ghost runner in the 10th. So not routine but nothing high-wire about it either. Especially since he was pitching two innings. Definitely felt a bit ambitious to do that but would we have rather seen Kerkering? They clearly don't rate McFarlane as a top option quite yet.

And the one hit was a ground ball between Turner and Stott, a different BABIP luck and it coulda been the kind of out that Marsh ran into an out at 3rd on

I will be curious if we have a save situation today. The Duran 2-inning stint appears to be planned in anticipation of the postseason usage. Bowlan has pitched 2 in a row. I might give McFarlane a chance today if it comes up. More likely they go Raley but McFarlane is as good a choice as any. It would upset his win pace though (4 wins in 8 games).

For sure if they are in a tight and bullpen-heavy game today he should get a look. Doesn't even matter if it's the save, maybe he gets a high-leverage situation or tough pocket in late innings.
