Every now and then you have this maddening situation where a particular bad eam simply is a bad matchup for a good team. That seems to be the case with the Nationals for the Phillies this season. Reminds me of '93 when a 97 win Phillies team struggled against a 101 loss Padres team (6-6).

Did Marsh has a real shot at throwing out the tying runner at the plate? If he throws the ball to 2nd and holds the runner at first the inning probably plays out a lot differently. Of course if Realmuto doesn't throw the ball to Marsh the inning may have played out differently.

Yeah maybe Phillies win it in the 9th or extras if runner wasn't on second or if JT doesn't make that throw. But the save was blown.

We were only 7-6 against the Nats in '23. The Mets too. 6-7 against Miami and 5-8 against the Braves but they were playoff teams.

Our seats at the game were literally right next to the bullpens. We got the whole Duran experience, with my daughter taking a video of him throwing in the bullpen. Everyone around us was watching the pen in the bottom of the eighth and not the game. I was so excited to experience the intro. What a production. Then the letdown.
