I think Rios has earned the demotion. As bad as Neris was tonight, I think he may be of more use than Rios. Three walks so fat this inning.

Washington Nationals 10 - Philadelphia Phillies 4
This loss is on the bullpen. While the offense could have been better, the Phillies managed to put together a big inning. There’s no excuse for allowing nine runs in three innings.
…..and the beat (down) goes on.
I was feeling pretty good when the Phillies took that 4-1 lead, but it just seems to have woken up the Nationals. It's been ALL Nationals since.

Kapler’s going to be really stretched to spin some positives about this game.
Hernández, C
Defensive switch from center field to right field for Bryce Harper.
He can isolate the failure to one area. The bullpen. Total absolute failure by the pen tonight. Multiple pitchers all pitched poorly.
Michael A. Taylor remains in the game as the center fielder.Pitching Change: Kelvin Herrera replaces Wander Suero, batting 1st, replacing right fielder Adam Eaton.Called strike (95.8 mph two-seam fastball)Called strike (79.4 mph slider)Swinging strike (89.3 mph changeup)
Cesar Hernandez strikes out swinging.
I’m hoping he doesn’t even go there. The bullpen wet the bed in an otherwise winnable game. There’s no way to spin that.

Final
A very bad night for the Phillies.
Braves win, 6-1 over Pittsburgh.
Nothing good to say about the Phillies play in the first game of the series in DC.
Let's hope things go better tomorrow.
We all felt coming into this season that the Phils were around a .500 team. They sure are playing like it right now. They haven't won a series since earlier this month and their offense is (borderline) atrocious at worst and inconsistent at best.
Gotta love this headline:
