More inept play by the Phillies. Just can’t do much right.

I’m not a fan of the bun down two runs on the road.

I put the blame on Hoskins for striking out with two men in scoring position. Had he done his job, the Phillies would have scored at least one run.

Phillies get first two on base but come up empty.
Regardless of what you think about the sac bunt, it didn't work out.
Of course, if Hernandez doesn't bunt, there is not reason to think it would have resulted in him getting a hit.
Opportunity lost in the 7th. I had hopes Hoskins would tie up the game, but just not to be in this inning. Runners second and third with one out is a great chance to get a run if you put the ball in play. The ball Cabrera hit might have gotten a run in if there weren't two outs.

But absolutely. He's a rookie. And most of these players haven't done this before.

Same is true of the Braves though.

It's not just the Phillies and Braves. The entire NL is garbage this year. None of the "contenders" seem to be playing all that well. As Matt Gelb wrote this morning, it is entirely possible that not a single NL team makes it to 90 wins this season. Pathetic parity.
