A tough loss to a good team.
Wheeler was not in top form but the bullpen lost the game. Banks giving up a home run after coming in for Wheeler in the seventh and Strahm, walking two with two out in the eighth and then allowing the triple to score both. His 29th pitch of the inning. Ironicly, those were the only two walks in the game. Tigers' pitchers walked none today.
The Phillies were doing nothing against Skubal most of the game, but finally scoring 5 runs late. Good enough to win if the bullpen holds the Tigers scoreless, but they couldn't do it today.
Back tomorrow to try to win the series. For now, back to second place.
