That might be better down the line, but much of that lineup is currently 29th in MLB in runs scored. I don't see any real reason it will be better next year. We do need to start making some improvements or we will be mired at the bottom forever.
2018 ONLY:
Replacing Rupp with Alfaro. Advantage Rupp, who is a well above average hitter for a C.
Replacing Joseph with Hoskins. Advantage, well, marginally Hoskins until he proves he is a great deal better.
Replacing Galvis with Crawford. Advantage: Push. Galvis is a pretty good hitter, low OBP but has slugging, Crawford WILL be better, but next year might be worse.
Altherr and Williams are more likely to regress than improve IN THE SHORT TERM. Franco is more likely to be a little better.
Since Kingery doesnt need a 40 man spot next season it would be better to hold him in AAA.
I would like to see a veteran OF/IF type (like Kendrick) again to fill in and add some veteran presence. In fact, even Kendrick would be good.
