GDT 8/14/17 Philadelphia Phillies (J Eickhoff) @ San Diego Padres (T Wood)

Another loss that felt like a winnable game. Eickhoff not great but went five innings and had the lead when the bullpen took over.

Phillies with 11 hits but missed on the chance for a big inning twice leaving the bases loaded in the middle of the game. Great to see Hoskins hit the two long balls. I hope it will give him confidence to go on to shine over the remainder of the season.

i didn't see the game, was there any message in that HBP to hoskins in the 9th? i guess, since it was the last inning, we'll see tonight.

It looks like it brought the tying run to the plate, so it would have been pretty stupid if there was any message given.

It was a pitch that just barely hit him in the foot. No message

Thanks LB and BK. i didn't see and agree that bringing the tying run to the plate wouldn't be to smart. also getting hit in the foot does not mean sending a message. i just thought after the 2 hr's and then getting hit later, was it more than coincidental. here's hoping for 2 more tonight.
