Kemp was not really rushed. More exposed and the exposure is on the defensive end. He has probably been done a disservice by playing multiple positions in the minors and being a master at none of them, but there is also the reality that he just does not have great hands. With Bohm the issue was always mechanics and taking to long to unfurl the throw after he catches it. He'll never have great range, but once he got the mechanics improved he was serviceable there.
Kemp just may always make more errors. He is probably best at 3B and there is a real case to leave him there as a bridge potentially after Bohm, though to hold down a roster spot he'll need to play elsewhere too. His offense is just not quite as good as Bohm now though there is still time to improve there.
Most utility guys are defense first like Sosa but there is a spot for Kemp. The reality though is he is probably just a utility guy unless he improves (still possible at his age and experience but also not that likely). He is useful and a great story. Wilson just probably makes sense for the team now since he plays the same positions and he is better at that.
Crawford is completely different. He would be fine if he is called up but may not be better than Kepler offensively so why do it now when the development for him with a clear swing issue is important. I think Crawford is the LF next year anyway and will play next to Marsh in CF. If he gets better defensively he and Marsh will swap positions. They just need to figure out how to get Crawford to 15-20 HR power because he has the tools for that. Just not the swing at the moment.
