Well, not over Bader anyway. But he can usually field and he's had an unlucky season. He still occasionally produces. It will be interesting to see what happens if the division race gets tight again, or the NL seeding race comes down to the wire. Then Thomson will have to start managing like it's the playoffs. But right now he can continue to give guys chances and be managing as much for team chemistry and to keep everyone contributing with an eye towards shaking out the playoff roster as to win every single game.
