Did the same ump call the game for the Giants? Did they find a way to get the job done to win the game?
Of course, human umps make mistakes and I agree they should be replaced for more accuracy of calls, but your victimhood is over the top here. We had one of our best pitchers going tonight and he pitched his heart out, only to lose because our offense could not execute.
Nothing about leadership? So they should just shrug and watch as their team loses and wastes another great start by our rotation? Just blame shift to the ump and take no accountability for themselves? That is the type of leadership you want on your team?
Not I. I expect a lot more from a veteran, experienced group of professional players. This is not some development team or young club on the rise. They should know how to adjust to a bad ump and still get the job done.
This is an multi-season trend for this offense and it would be nice if someone in the organization worked on figuring it out. It is the biggest thing keeping us from achieving the ultimate goal and I would hope everyone is turning over every rock trying to find ways to adapt and address it before it kills us again this season.
