Yeah I'm not saying it can happen, I'm just saying it needs to. There's no help on the farm and you can't trade for two starters (while also needing a RF).
Even just the Stott of last year would be fine though. .328 OBP and 96 OPS+ with good defense and 2+ WAR. That would indeed be 4th on the current Phillies in OBP, but was 7th (including Bader) last year. I don't necessarily think Bohm is any different with or without the distraction. He's been aging, brittle and trending downward ever since June of 2024. 90 OPS+ is probably his baseline and he might get there (it's about where he is in June after a bad April and hot May).
I tend to think that firing the hitting coach never helps, nor, often, does getting a hitter to try and completely change approach. That seems to be why Garcia struggled even more this year, though now we'll never know if it might have paid off eventually. And it sounds like the changes that worked for Trea last year aren't working this year. Even so, a team with six regulars (plus their top bench guy) all OBP-ing under .300 should not be keeping the hitting coach employed.
