Rupp singles to center, Joseph held up to make sure it landed in center, runners on corners, nobody out.
Lackey's done, lefty coming in (I think).
Duensing, indeed a lefty, into pitch.
Galvis lines it to Rizzo, Rupp doubled off 1st. 2 outs just like that.
Rupp woulda been out no matter what, but he didn't do the old 'freeze on a line drive' thing either.
Eflin flies out to right and promising inning doesn't pan out. Mid 6th, tied at 3.
Bottom 6th
East Fallowfield's theory that Pitchers Who Are Left In When They Mighta Been Pinch Hit For Usually Give Up A Run or More Next Inning will be tested here.
Baez grounds out 6-3, deep in the hole. Schwarber to PH for the pitcher.
Schwarber Ks swinging, 2 up 2 down. 1st K for Eflin today.
Phillies have been playing competitive games in most of these loses. The line drive DP wastes the double and single that started the inning. I just feel better days coming!!
Sczcur infield single down the 3B line, just beats the throw.
Phils challenging.
And he's OUT! Cub announcers finally notice that the throw beat him, after being convinced there wasn't even reason to appeal. Eflin shows my theory to be hogwash, or selective memory. End 6, tie game.
Great play on both ends there.
I didn't think they would overturn that call but was thinking that had it been called an out, that would have stood as well. I think the glove started up indicating contact just a nanosecond prior to the foot hitting the bag. The overturn was correct. He was out.
Top 7th
Grimm (RH) pitching for them.
Cesar lines a hit to left center, tries to stretch it, naturally he's thrown out. Leadoff hit, one out, no one on.
They mighta not tagged him quickly enough, NO CHALLENGE from our guys.
Altherr walks. 1 out baserunner.
Another huge managing mistake from Pete. You have to challenge there because after this inning the crew chief is the one who determines challenges. That means it doesn't really matter if you lose your challenge there or not. Pete might be good for moral, but the guy doesn't understand how to manage a game. This could be two games in a row where is decisions have hurt us.
Altherr steals 2nd.
Looked like he was out on the replays I saw.
Hate the wasted opportunities. Hernandez 3 for 4 today.
Of course, Altherr walks.
