Yes, Neris gets through it with out giving up a run, so results wise, okay. But really not so good. Frankly, I was concerned that he could blow the 4 run lead. He didn't, so in fairness, I have to give him credit for being a part of another combined shutout. It was good to see Arrieta come back with an outstanding start. Dominguez got the last out in the 7th with runners in scoring position and then set the Braves down in the 8th, 1-2-3 on 8 pitches. Super job again for him. Good pitching wins games and the Phillies win again tonight behind some fine pitching.
Offense puts 4 on the board to win the game. Hoskins goes 1 for 3 with a walk to keep his OPS from falling below .800. Santana goes 2 for 4 and gets his BA over .200. Williams gets another pinch hit to drive in a comforting insurance run late in the game.
Phillies finally win a series with the Braves. Record goes to 28-19, again 9 over .500 (season high).
Bring on the Blue Jays.
