Didn’t think it was going to be our day after not scoring in the 4th inning with runners on 2nd and 3rd with nobody out. Stott gets a little redemption in the 9th with the RBI triple after striking out for the first out in that 4th inning.

kudos to crawford and the relievers and a nice job by Sanchez after a rocky first.
Probably many pitchers have a poorer record in the 1st cause of who they are guaranteed to face, but hasn't Sanchez had first inning issues all along?
Bullpen game scheduled for the second game with Mayza starting. Probably a good idea to do this now rather than next week (no off days) because we have the extra pitcher (Hoffman) up with the team. Too bad we really don't have a minor league starter to step in these days. Rangel started recently and the only other pitcher who has pitched OK was Connor Gillispie and he might be hurt now.
It seems the new manager is showing a more aggressive base running strategy. And that may be just what this team's offense needs at this time.
