With Stott it is more that Sosa is just too good against LHP, versus Stott not beging great at it (though he isn't). Sosa does not get exposed by playing time, only by playing time when he faces RHP (which only happens with an injury).
I've never understood why people get worked up about a strong-side platoon player not being able to play "everyday" when it's still 80% of the time. Add in the occasional normal day off/need to get your bench guys into games and it's such a tiny thing.
Pulling Crawford was purely situational on a day the team had shown no offense up to that point and was unlikely to take the field again. It bothers me more if a manager lets the lefty hit against a LHP and says "I just thought he was hot" or "my gut said he could come through there" than if he makes the correct match-up move.
