Weird to play the NYG 2 times in 3 weeks, then have WAS 2 times in 3 weeks.

Honestly, this is about the best this schedule could have come out. 1 home, 1 away repeats, week 9 bye, some breakout of tough games. 2 Thursday games are nice because they are an advantage (extra rest for next game).

There is no way this was going to be a simple schedule. The teams we are playing are just too tough.

We really only have 3 easy games (Giants, Raiders), at least they are not consecutive.

Yes, they hate them, but they are a scheduling advantage. Both teams playing have equal short rest but then the next week the team has longer rest than its opponent.

I get why the players hate them, but it is still an advantage for the team. That’s why it is unfair that Dallas almost always gets 2, they need to start rotating the Thanksgiving games or make that the only one for Dallas and Detroit.

It also invites more injuries and players discontent. I would argue that on those two issues alone makes it a disadvantage.

I know what this is really about, but I don't understand the pretend pace of play reason. QB sneaks should have the same effect on pace of play and this rule will not reduce the number of QB sneak attempts. If it did, teams would punt more, which would result in more commercial breaks, which is a bigger impact on pace of play. We need to hire Saul Goodman.

Haha. Isn't Brotherly Shove actually the name of the Eagles' play call, and the other term generic/when other teams try it? Of course neither actually appeared in the proposal, I don't think.

Unfortunately, ESPN and the league refer to it as the tush push, I prefer brotherly shove as well, since the play did originate with the Eagles, I think they should be able to name the play.

There is speculation that the league prodded GB to propose it cause they don't really have one 'owner' to take the heat

Sadly, this means that most likely the teams that can’t stop the play will succeed next offseason.

Sirianni, etc need to start working on a revised play to avoid the probable ban, but that is an issue for another day.

It is a nice advantage.

I still contend that it is not the Center, not the QB (well, sometimes), but the secret to the play is Mailata. They run it his was 100% of the time. He collapses down and creates a void on the play and almost every time they run it he is laying on the ground 4-5 yards downfield at the end. It is a trap-QB Sneak and I think no one realizes it in the mass of bodies. Hurts runs behind Dickerson on the play and Mailata knocks Dickerson’s guy off balance while keeping his guy from shooting in to grab Hurts.

They will be very successful running qb sneaks without the push when it’s eventually banned. It’s good to see how many franchises recognize the crying is just sour grapes.

Honestly, it is a little disturbing that 22 voted for the ban. It is clearly not a safety issue, it is just “we can’t stop them, can the league step in and do something”.
