Eagles now +1 in turnovers for the year (partially thinks to the Cowboys). I really didn’t think we would ever get to positive this year, we were in the bottom 2 for a very good part of the season.

So... I was reading the NFL power rankings. Are the Eagles really the 2nd best team in the NFC? Surely they've learned the Fangio and Moore schemes, but I have serious doubts they're #2 in the NFC.

I think the Eagles will finish 11 - 6.

And possbily the Lions too. But it's not like power rankings are an exact science. If they win tomorrow (and they are favored, albeit not by much at home) the path to the division and a Top 2 seed is pretty clear. If they don't it will be a challenge.

Was assuming that if the debate was whether or not the Eagles were the second best team in the NFC that it was the Lions at #1.

"Beating a good team" always seems a little tricky for the teams I follow somehow, if said team beats another team that's a 'good' team it seems like the comments either go 'they were lucky' or '(other team) isn't really good'.

Not seeing a lot of amazing wins on the Commanders schedule. Arizona the only team they beat with a winning record, I think?

Correct, I assumed the Lions were the number-one team in the NFC. I realized the Eagles can only beat the teams they played in the last half of last season. They couldn't beat anybody. So this year, it's drastically improved. I'm just not sure there is as good as the power ranking. I suppose to power our rankings, do an excellent job because, say, reward teams for winning, and as soon as you lose, you drop down to a lower level. After what I saw last year in the early part of the season, I'm not entirely convinced they're a top team in the NFC. I'm hoping I'm wrong.

That said, would help if OP actually linked to something, especially since there are multiple power rankings. Eagles appear to be decidedly second in all of them though. And if they lose in 36 hours they won't be (and if they win, they should be).

Eagles beat the Packers, who are pretty legitimately a good team. And it could be argued that the Bengals are a good team, too, that has had bad luck in close games. They are pretty close statistically to some of the better teams in the league.

To be fair they really haven’t played good teams yet. GB is not awful, TB game was just an aberration since we only had Goeddert to catch passes. Atlanta was just a stupid disaster, they happen, but should have been a win. All the other games were bad teams (and the above listed are closer to average than good).

Next part of the schedule will be very telling. We enter it RED RED hot and I think the offense has found an identity. (Run the freaking ball… our WR will end up man/man and kill the opponent). Even with his failings Hurts has really turned into a very good deep thrower. Helps that we have 2 WR that win most battles.

The Commanders' win against a 'good' team is Arizona, which ranks below Green Bay on all the power rankings I'm looking at, and they GB has one fewer loss than ARI (albeit in one less game played). So they haven't really beaten anybody if we hold them to the same standard as the Eagles.

I think the Eagles are on par or slightly better than the Commanders at this time, tomorrow's game is the first measuring stick for the Eagles, at the Rams should be a win, but then at the Ravens the week after that will be the toughest game on the schedule, probably the bell weather game of the season.

I think the Commanders have the better, or at least more reliable, QB and we have the better team. Hard to rank either team's position in the league, since both are now better than they were at start of season. It is easy to get a skewed view of Eagles, because they had poor coordinators last season and the team is adjusting to another set of new coordinators this season. Hurts does some things very well but still does too much stupid stuff and needs to read the D and go through at least part of his progression faster.

Rams are capable of beating good teams, that game won't be easy in CAL. Ravens are really good on offense, unstoppable when Lamar is hot. We might have to out-score them, which may be possible since their defense is not as tough as usual.

Re: Washington Football Team: It's hard to say Jaden is better than Jalen after only a few games, but he has been more accurate so far this season and a better decision-maker. Our edge is on defense, but we will have to adapt to stop a QB who is a play-extending running threat. Very hard to scheme for. Hurts has shown he can play QB at an MVP level in the NFL--we might need that over the next 4 weeks.
