I have to say the Eagles seem to have finally taken productive football players under the new personnel guys. As much as I was drooling for Ruben Foster or OJ Howard at #14, I suppose Barnett was their guy all the way. The Sidney Jones pick made me leap off my couch since I really wanted him even with the chance he will/should miss most of 2017. But that was after the Vikings jumped ahead of NO and Philly to take Dalvin Cook who I liked.
If you watch the highlights of WRs Mack Hollins and Shelton Gibson, you see some productive guys who should push incumbents for roster spots, especially on special teams. Hollins is supposed to be a great ST guy and Gibson should get a look as a returner. And Pumphrey is getting a lot of negative comments on the Eagles board, but like Phillychuck said, take a peek at some of his highlights and the guys is so fast and instinctive in picking up yardage and avoiding hits. I wanted a banger but he could be a great back and returner for years to come. I think he's that good, but what do I know?
Rasul Douglas has great size and anticipation and had 8 picks last year. His tape is also impressive and let's see if he can be coached up to push for playing time since the CBs are wide open. Qualls also could push for time with Beau Allen nursing the pec injury at DT.
On the UDFA signings, Orlowsky and Cory Clement are my two favorites. I grew up in Glassboro so I've always kept an eye on Clement at Wisc. He had his share of injuries and attitude problems, but don't discount what he brings on game day. He was very productive behind some great OLs but he could be the short yardage guy the Eagles need. He scored a lot of TDs and knows his way to paydirt. TE Billy Brown came from a small program but he's one to keep an eye on even though they're stacked at TE unless Celek is expendable. If they did indeed sign the QB Jerod Evans from VT, he'll be one for the QB gurus to prime for the future. Great size, arm and wheels but very inexperienced.
