For what it’s worth, if i leave my browser open on my PC or phone, the login stays active even if i move away from the site and come back. If i shut down the browser on my PC or close the app on my phone I have to log back in.
I opened the safari browser on iPad tonight and was still signed in. First time in months.
During the season, I was regularly having to sign in during a game even though I did not close the browser.
Same experience for me on my phone, i'm staying logged in when I was being logged out for a while

…and as far as I know, neither Chris nor I have changed anything.
My guess (only that) is that something has been changing on the server side (to which I have no access), and whatever that is has changed again.
it's probably some kind of cookie that got fixed or restored right?
