Oh I hear ya, but it just makes sense that if hitters flop when they leave the Rockies and Denver, pitchers would do better. I don't know is that would actually stand up to statistical analysis, and probably a lot of starting pitchers never even get their careers off the ground there, Hoffman included. But Estevez had a 4.59 ERA and 1.4 WHIP during his Colorado years. He shaved more than run off that in Anaheim and another run again in Philly/KC, though his FIP this year is still closer to 4.00, and was for us too. I don't think he's exactly a who would have thought because he was perfectly good for us, not a flop. Just didn't personally think he was a must re-sign, or better than Hoffman, and obviously the Phillies didn't either. Hoffman is not having a great year but he as almost as many saves as Estevez.
Would be pretty cool if Mickey keeps it up there even if it's Colorado-aided. He was cut by the Angels just this year.
