Glad to finally get a second for putting Sosa in LF. The Phils are stuck in another commitment rut playing Merrifield, Pache and... can't add Dahl now, who I think had gone close to 1 for 18 before he rejoined the team today. The announcers praised Dahl's hitting like he just won a title. Maybe he has some upside.
It remains an interesting question who is the best SS on the Phils, cause they have THREE players who are capable ML starters, Sosa, Stott and Turner. Turner is the All Star, 5-tool player and he's gonna play where he wants and that's SS. He might be 3rd best. Made Stott into a great 2B. Hope it makes Sosa a great LF.
I'm not missing Walker in the rotation. He's had one good start since his recovery and 2 disasters since then. The Phils' hitters could have covered him, but they were missing in action. Again. OTOH, Turnbull will get another shot and he's already shown the team he has what it takes to start. Turnbull has got to understand the Phils' commitment to Walker in spite of Turnbull's own success as a SP. The rotation just got stronger.
Some were wondering how good Sanchez could be this year. WOW! That's how good. Timely signing! The best thing that ever happened to Sanchez was to lose his 4-seamer. Some here are down on Stubbs for his sub-Mendoza hitting with good reason, but he calls a GREAT game. Ask Sanchez. Solid D behind the plate too. He surely know he needs to hit better.
I don't know whose idea it was to show the phlogging Dbacks closing the NLDS last season but that guy should be traded to Oakland/Vegas. Or boiled in molten lead. It's a PHILS GAME!
