I disagree. The success rate for taking risk with young guys who need the "light bulb" to turn on for them is much closer to 0 than people always fool themselves into thinking.
The red flags on a guy like Bailey - defensive effort, lack of toughness, wilting in big spots, selfish-play, etc. - are just killers IMO. People will point to Carmelo and that's probably at best a 1 in 25 thing.
Even though these are all kids, they have spent most of their formative years developing character traits. Really hard to correct the bad ones after dumping 8 figures into their bank accounts.
Some executive will draft him high hoping he grows up and they'll be hoping the same at the next team he goes to.
