Saw one mock that said Sixers take Bailey at 5, which was also a way of predicting he slides.

I reckon you pick the BPA whether you trade him or in a season or two or in 10 seconds. Or you have three guards and any one of them gets traded down the line.

Definitely hard to know where Morey's head is truly at. If nothing else I'm confident he won't squander the pick merely to unload George, but beyond that....?

Bailey and Harper almost have the same exact scouting report.

Two guys with immense talent who have warts. Bailey and Harper both lack a consistent shot.

I'd rather avoid both of them.

According to most draft analysts, Cooper is generational, and Harper is a tier below him, better than about half of the usual #1 picks. Bailey is in the next tier. There are very few pros who see Bailey and Harper as similar talents.

Hopefully Morey is as good as picking high as he generally has been low middle. And he's gotta be better at reading the trade market than the previous regimes (i.e Fultz and Bridges deals).

I can’t ever criticize the Fultz deal. At the time they made it, it looked brilliant. I was all in.

Bridges deal OTOH I hated.

I don't fault them for making him the pick, they just got bamboozled by Boston on the trade, both in terms of how badly they needed to make it and what they gave up to make it. I don't recall many people thinking it was a good trade at the time, inasmuch as they still could have gotten him, or could have "settled" for another player.

The Bridges deals is mysterious, except for the fact that the team had no GM. Smith could have wound up being good, but what a disaster.

Get ready for all kinds of mostly silly Giannis rumors.

I actually went looking to see what Zhaire Smith was up to...he had a pretty good year in the G-League...I would imagine he'll be in camp with someone.

I just tuned into the draft and the said the Sixers finished out of the top six and they would lose the pick, and I was heartbroken, then they made a correction and the Sixers are in the top four. We’ll know in a few minutes where they end up, but no lower than four.

San Antonio and Dallas jumped the queue which would have hurt the sixers if they weren’t also in the mix

OTOH Jalen Brunson was taken 33rd overall, they should do something like that again.

Maybe the Mavericks will take PG for Flagg.

From what I understand of this draft, #3 is the perfect draft slot for intra-fanbase fighting.

This sums up the Sixers perfectly. Get lucky in the lottery and end up with the 3 in a 2 player draft.

I've been so out on them these last couple years that it just makes me laugh. Management deserves it.

Such weird takes...first the chances of losing the pick were the concern and now moving up to 3 is...bad news?

There are two or maybe 3 elite or elite adjacent prospects but then there is alot of star quality players

Bailey and Edgcombe are potential stars, even if less certain than Flagg and Harper. Or even if the Sixers used this great asset of a pick for a trade that otherwise may not have been possible. We should not be complaining.

I am certainly happy they have the pick. I'm not even sure what they should do with it. Don't forget, getting the pick this year means no pick next year and while you'd like to think they'd be picking 20th next year, they really are still in a bit of a bind. Do you pick a kid who's never going to appear in a meaningful role in a meaningful post-season game with Embiid or George - which does make it a lot easier to execute the pick, especially knowing you don't have one next year - or do you go all in one last time? And if the former, don't you also want to tank again, not just have another team that loses in the first or second round?

It's been 30 years of hell. There will be a few more.
