I think the #3 pick is a trap; I'm not sold on Ace Bailey as an NBA player, and he is by far the most likely pick. If they pull #3 I would be looking to trade out of that slot.

I feel like trauma makes that seem like a bad idea...the sixers don't exactly do well when they trade that high in the draft.

Both of the Rutgers kids seem to have almost the warts...

Harper is going to be an all-star. Bailey may be un-playable. The people who argue for Bailey being good look at his tape and say, "See all the really hard shots he takes, and he still makes a reasonable percentage." My counterpoint to that is even against B1G defenses, he couldn't find a way to get himself open for easier shots. And he took the bad shots anyway instead of passing the ball. He plays full-time hero ball, and I don't think he will learn not to. Trade the pick to a team that thinks they can fix him.

We should have such problems. But also, whatever we may think of Morey and this front office, they're not the ones who did the Fultz trade (let alone Hinson).

I will take the pain of having the third overall pick over the pain of the thunder getting the seventh overall pick. If this pick is kept, then the thunder get the sixers 2026 first that will be protected one through four. Hopefully they are a playoff team next year and lose a late first.

Again...the eyeball test is what it is but when you read the consensus on both players you land virtually in the same place.

Both kids have issues with shot consistency. I'm not saying that Bailey isn't a potential bust but they both seem to have that potential...both kids are high ceiling and low floor guys.

Well, when you put it that way it really does come back to the larger question of what the Sixers are trying to do over the next 2-3 years. If the two biggest problems with this year's team are actually unfixable next year it may not matter whether they have the pick this year or next year for the long-term value. But if they are hoping/trying to win next year with some combination of the current group, whatever moves Morey can make, and a big contribution from the pick, obviously you want this pick (and want it more than the 10th or 18th pick in 2026 too).

No - if there is a noticeable difference, you take the guard and trade somebody.

All they have to do is avoid winning the rest of their games.
