I keep saying that if you take away that 31 year stretch from 1918-48 when the Phillies were perennially undercapitalized either by choice (Baker) or by necessity (Nugent), the Phillies are a pretty run of the mill franchise.
And no, I am not old enough to remember those times. 
Makes me think...someone who attended a game at National League Park/Baker Bowl as a newborn would be 84 now and someone who reasonably can remember attending games there would be at least about 89 now. There are no living ex-balplayers who played there.
