Scott and Ennis are both OK bench scorers, as is Bolden sometimes. If you can score, create, and defend you're not on anybody's bench in the NBA, you're starting (if you're not very young or very old).

What scenario exists where someone would take an over-paid player, TJ in this case, and give you a better player at the same cost? That better player is typically someone the present team would want to flip for an even better player ... or a draft pick ....

Obviously moot at this point, but the way it works is you would attach draft compensation (2nd round pick or two, a first if valuable enough) to TJ and do a trade where the player coming back meets the salary exchange requirements, but the real compensation are the draft picks, and TJ or whomever was just in the deal to make it legal...could get cut shortly thereafter, for example, and the team receiving him then just has the draft picks. Without a salary slot player like that, you can’t take on the salary just for the picks.

For the die-hard phans among us, today at 3:30 we get to see the first Sixer Summer league game. Lots of the new and slightly new faces to check out. Last year's two top picks will be playing in a healthy condition as well as this year's picks. I am looking forward to it-- which might be a reflection of the state of the Phils!

Intrigued at Lance Stephenson for a backup guard/wing spot. Neto is interesting, but there is no way this is their guard rotation for an entire season.

I've watched the Sixers summer league games and Zhaire Smith is a ridiculously athletic player and could be a star. The athleticism that hadn't come back during the end of last season is there.

I'm very excited to see what he contributes on the second unit this upcoming season.

Kyle Korver is deciding between the Lakers, Bucks ad Sixers in the next day or so...I'm worried in that he has the same defensive flaws that JJ has.

Reddick is a much better defender than Korver, but Korver would come here as a 10-15 minute, instant offense backup, not to play serious minutes.

Thybulle has a lot of upside, a more athletic, advanced version of RoCo.
But he needs work on handling the ball, he's got good vision but struggles trying to beat guys and loses the handle too often.
Getting the feeling he was underutilized in college as a defensive specialist, and there's some offensive potential that could be unlocked.
