Landry Shamet is really looking like a good pick for where we got him...should get more minutes going forward which could be bad news for TJ McConnell.

rough loss last night...

Fultz had a good first half then I don't know how much he played in the second half.

13 points 6 rebounds and 2 assists.

I'm sure BB has a plan but it seems like his athleticism could have helped.

The only thing that really would have helped was someone to guard Blake Griffin. Pretty sure Fultz can't do that!

Griffin is really good, but he's such a dirty player I have trouble appreciating his game. He gives subtle elbows and pushes to every opposing player he finds himself around.

I'm seeing the same issues as last year with this 76ers team unfortunately: inconsistency all over, turnovers, poor execution of half court offense, poor shooting, poor defense of pick/roll, Simmons with zero jump shot etc.

Against the teams we need to beat to come out of the East - Boston, Toronto, Milwaukee - so far we are not even close.

I hope Brown and the 76ers management have a plan and know what they are doing; they have a lot of work to do.

Taking the offseason off and not adding any significant players wasnt a good plan. Yes, we have added some backups through the draft, but if we dont start to improve the team and just let the young guys play and age we become the Montreal Expos. Basically a place for players to get experience and get to free agency.

Of course much of the same can be said of the Phillies, they are doing more or less the same thing (except for the Arrieta signing). Growing young players, letting them play together and gain experience, but not putting a winning team on the field, and after a period of time those young players age out of the team and either have to be traded or leave via FA. (PLEASE NOTE: I am just commenting on the similarity, this is not the thread for Phillies discussion)

Ben Simmons will need to start shooting jumpers or teams will end up being able to minimize his effectiveness. Either that or make him a power forward and trade saric for a shooting guard.

This team is exposed against the better teams.

Yup. More then any other player, Simmons frustrates me. There is a glaring, gaping hole in his game. If he can't fix it then he can't be relied upon to take the next step. By all accounts, he has the talent to be the next LeBron James, but to even think about doing so he needs to at least try to develop a jump shot.

Saric is playing horribly so far. If he were shooting at all they would be 6-2 or so. Last night and the Milwaukee loss were both second games of back-to-backs, and the Raptors were home and had rested Kawhi the first game.

Moose was way better yesterday than he had been. Right now he's a better player than Saric. Shamet has been very good so far for a rookie. Fultz was bad yesterday, Embiid was at best average for him, and Simmons couldn't hold on to the ball. And they were within 6 in the 4th quarter before they ran out of gas.

The key to this season is what it has always been--Fultz needs to become a good, positive NBA contributor or they are not going to beat anyone in the playoffs. It's really not on Simmons and Embiid, they just can't do what this team needs.

What is most disappointing to me so far is that there is no evidence that Simmons did any work to improve his game in the offseason. Still doesn't shoot, is still a poor free throw shooter. With the way he could force his way to the basket, he should be getting 10 to 15 free throws a game.

But all the reports were Simmons was working on his jump shot this off-season.

I had the misfortune of listening to WIP yesterday and this seems to be the narrative all the hosts and fans are selling: that Simmons is a bum who doesn't want to be great and spent his off-season partying not working hard. And because it is the NBA the Sixers can't make him (nor can they work with him directly).

Seems just as plausible that he actually did work hard but the results simply aren't there. Or the technique/instruction wasn't right.

Option 3: He is what he is.

Elon Musk certainly has fans for Tesla; Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos had fanboys -- mostly elderly men. It often seems that the out-and-out frauds, like Holmes or Madoff or Trump, have the most loyal fans of their corporate endeavors.

Fultz definitely with his best night so far...

Sparked the sixers in the third quarter with while the clippers were on a 24-8 run and scored 6 points and an assist to end the quarter on a 10-2 run.

Embiid was absolutely dominant with 41 points and 13 rebounds.
