Stronger team for next year. How good going forward? Corbin is a longer term help; I guess Segura is also. I'm not at all sure that Hoskins develops as planned if he stays in LF. Quinn has always had potential; staying on the field has been an issue -- better not lose Odubel. I don't see Kingery as a super-sub.
Really, I think people are generally too eager to just throw away the whole team, including prospects. I stated what I feel the Phillies view of Crawford is. I'm sort of agnostic on whether or not that is the correct view. I do think we need to give our top prospects every chance to succeed, not play them out of position, not play them sporadically, not bring in the mediocre to replace them, because the mediocre might be better this season. Harper, Machado, Corbin, Kikuchi -- these are guys who can help for years and whom we can play our young players around.
Moustakis will be 30 next season and has averaged less than 2.0 bWAR over the last 3 seasons. McCutcheon about the same WAR average, but will be 32.
