Sixers just need to be patient and it'll work out over the next two years. I expect them to be far more competitive during the second half of the season just from playing together - when was the last stretch where BB could field the same 8-9 guys for a couple months? You can see the difference in ball movement, while it stalls at times, they also pass the ball better than anytime the last four years. And the defense is slowly jelling.
This is far from a finished product, they need a lot more athleticism at guard/SF, but hopefully Noel will garner a winger, they should draft in the top 3 and 10-15 depending how the Lakers finish the season, TLC will have a year under his belt - so that could change drastically in one season.
Embiid - if he stays healthy, he's elite. Just learning what he can (shoot threes, dominate the paint) and can't do (dribble in traffic, blind passes). There is no center in the league that approaches his complete package (Townes is smaller and weaker).
Jah - slowly working his way into shape and learning how to play defense - but his block rate is the same as Noel, they just don't look as sexy. He's a work in progress, you can't compare him to Embiid, it's like asking Saric to be Larry Bird. Let's see what he looks like in April.
Saric - good thing he spent two years abroad, he's not quick enough to be a "3" and needs to add strength to be a "4". Ersan is an example where you'd like him to be in a year or two but with better defensive instincts and a feel for passing.
RoCo - cold, cold, cold, but he's really improved as a defender, this is the kind of role player they need, a "3" and D who can come off the bench, right now he's holding his own against top scorers, but they really need a more athletic SF for some of those matchups
Sergio - not a starter, just can't defend good NBA guards, but a solid QB on offense.
Holmes - solid backup who's not big enough to handle the best starting centers but his shot and rebounding has improved
Ersan - real nice veteran addition, but do you pay to extend him?
Bayless - injury is a downer, a support player but they need the depth
Henderson - tries hard but sometimes tries too hard, a role player
Nik - maybe he's for real, still limited defensively but potential as an off the bench scorer
TJ - best as a defensive pest, limited as a PG on offense
Hollis - he can shoot, but is usually a defensive liability
When Simmons returns don't get your hopes up, he needed a lot of work before he was injured and will be behind the curve, I just want to see him get some game time before the offseason when his real work begins. If he can guard "3s" that will help with lineup flexibility.
