I suppose, in part, I want to know what the intelligence was and, at least directionally, how compelling it was. That may be viewed, by some partisans, as an attempt to deflect responsibility from Trump and his sycophants, but based on 3 interviews I've seen with the WaPo reporters it's clear to me that they really don't have much info on how compelling the information was, or what it was, just that it existed.
I say that because if the projections were compelling and beyond worse case modelling, why would the Gang of Eight ignore the data too? By law, any significant intelligence provided to any President has to also be shared with the G8. By rule (I believe) within 48 hours. Shumer, Pelosi, Shiff are not Trump sycophants. Plus we know from the Burr reporting from ProPublica that the Senate Intel Cmte was being briefed almost daily by the Intelligence Community on Coronavirus and its spread. Right up until the Impeachment Articles were delivered on the 15th. Should I believe the intelligence was even directionally indicating a generational risk and not even one of those 21 senators\congressmen (10 D's) were patriotic enough to make the risk public? Romney was cow-telled by Trump's lack of concern? Anyway I want to know more about the intelligence before hanging the sycophants. But shouldn't Cuomo and the other interviewers also be asking that question too?
As to mischaracterizing your remarks or putting names into your mouth, if the"truth" to be known by the sycophants "close to Trump" was that we may be headed toward the worst pandemic in 100 years, then Azar and Fauci would have been the people "knowing that truth" or there wasn't a "truth" to be known. I just cited the names that were the consequence of your words.
