(OT) A message from the Cure

no sign of the Giants kid

after coming off the beach - it's always pool time - where after going in the pool - I dried off and put back on my old school maroon Halladay t-shirt..

about 20 feet away was some guy wearing a Diamondbacks (DBacks) t-shirt with "Webb" on the back

first time I've ever seen anyone wearing a DBacks shirt

of course I had my old school maroon Halladay shirt - so I was king of the pool area...

Ouch. I have a Curt Schilling and a Brandon Webb D-Backs shirt (plus a 2001 NL West champs D-Backs shirt). I am truly distressed to see Brandon Webb's injury fall from grace. I coveted him as a Phillie for years because he had over-the-top better than Kevin Brown GB/FB ratios, plus the ability to throw his sinker for strikes. I hope some day he comes back, because he was such a good talent, the kind of pitcher who knocks your socks off with his ability to strike guys out. Nasty, nasty, stuff and chicks dig bad boys.

Back home from Aruba!

It feels weird to go from a Carribbean Island back home and it is WARMER here!

Nice week for the Phillies - I was able to listen to the game today

got off the plane: 3-0 Phillies
got my bag: 3-3 tie
got to my car: 4-3 Padres
got on 95 - 8-4 Phillies
got to my dog to pick him up from his vacation home: Phils win

Crazy couple of busy weeks - most notably totally redoing my bathroom…

I haven't been around that much lately because my imac of 4.5 years quit on me - and I didn't have anything backed up. I'm hoping to see if I can easily recover the hard drive - or if not - if I have to take it somewhere and pay to get the data back. Totally stinks.

Anyone been through this before?

My computer is back up and running - will take me a few days to get everything situated - but at least things are getting back to normal.

Hey everyone

I've been absent for the past couple of years - but doing well - having dropped from 250 pounds to 186 (I'm 5'9") and still heavily involved with the fight to defeat ALS. I still follow the Phillies with the usual passion - but watching this organization decline has been tough - if not exhausting - but for some reason I think we have reached rock bottom - and although it will be a long climb back up - it will happen.

Congratulations on the weight loss - it can be really difficult to achieve what you have.

Do take heart - if we're not at rock bottom, we're close, and the only way left is up! Focus on the kids coming up; it's always fun to watch the good ones grow into real players.

My former landlord, a great guy, was diagnosed with ALS last February. It's been really tough for his family and very sad to see him decline. A really terrible disease.

Welcome back! Your size situation is similar to mine. When I turned 40, I lost 50 pounds in six months, but I starved myself and couldn't keep the weight off. I am doing it more gradually now, and I am optimistic (and so far succeeding). You're inspiring me!

that is amazing since most game threads since 2012 have been tough reads

I always said that if FAC came back I would be happy to turn the PBP back over. When I started doing em I thought it was temporary lol. Ive always thought I was a better color guy/analyst anyway. I love stats and posting up interesting tidbits as the game goes on.

I consider FAC the PBP guru and will be happy to either hand it back to you or share the duties or however you want to do it if you feel like getting back in the booth

We have better PBP and color guys than the Phils TV broadcast (although I do like Moyer.)

Anyone who did game threads has been Wally Pipped by bkox. Bkox has done a fantastic job of in-game coverage and has gone the extra mile with the pre-game commentary and stats that link to baseball-reference. No offense to FindACure, you did a fine job and if bkox can't do a game due to illness or other commitments, it would be a pleasure having you fill in.
