Kingery wasn't an example of aggressive placement - he was a high college draft pick.
Age 21 - Lakewood, .652 OPS
Age 22 - Clearwater, .770 OPS
Age 22 - Reading, .606 OPS, 37 games in a late season promotion
Age 23 - Reading, 1.021
His performance up to this year was decent, but nothing special, if he wasn't a high draft pick, most would have dismissed him as a serious prospect.
Compare to say Hoskins:
Age 21 - Williamsport, .720 OPS
Age 22 - Lakewood, .922 OPS
Age 22 - Clearwater, .904 OPS
Age 23 - Reading, .943 OPS
Age 24 - LHV, 1.118 OPS
I suspect they might have been more aggressive with Hoskins if they didn't have Joseph and Stassi ahead of him.
