Hernandez won't be traded this year b/c Kingery isn't ready, he needs at least a half season in AAA ball.
And they may wait until next July, depending on Kingery's progress.
It's more a matter of finding ways to get Kingery PAs and not being forced into a bad trade by "fire saling" Hernandez.
Keep all your options open.

Who said Kingery would replace Hernandez on the big club this year? Next year maybe if he is ready. This is a lost season so anyone can fill in on the big club. Now is probably the time when Hernandez has the greatest trade value.

Kingery will probably be up in September assuming he goes to AAA in a few weeks. It is very possible the Phillies will think he is ready by the end of the year.

They have a 1B decision to make in July. Then 2B in the offseason.

Randolph is putting the Mendoza line in his rear-view mirror. Many of our higher ranking kids are growing into and adapting to their new leagues. Nice to see.

Randolph is 9-15 over his past four games and methinks his demise was greatly exaggerated. He is a 19 year old playing in High A ball and well could make his AA debut at Reading at 20 years of age.

If he stays healthy he has a chance to become a very good LF prospect.

20 is plenty young for A+. It's going to take more than a good 4 games or even a good couple of weeks to re-establish C's cred. As a LF-only guy, and not a plus defensive LF, there is a high bar for his bat to clear for him to become a plus or even an average MLB starter. Within the Phillies organization, he has so much competition from guys like Cozens and Pullin, who have better bats.

In randoplh can hit in the 280's with some power he's essentially in the middle which is fine for me.

It will be a while until we have to worry about C-Randolph in LF. Altherr/Quinn/Williams/Cozens/Pullin will get their shots at corner OF positions first. And, if Perkins keeps hitting, he'll get a chance, too. I think Randolph will have to force his way to Philly, and we'll see if that happens over the next 2-3 years.

No...not even on the radar. Coppola is the epitome of a slap hitter who has 22 XBH in almost 700 AB's.

Coppola has a BA and nothing else.

It is more that Coppola is relatively old for the level and his combination of tools really do not translate at higher levels. He is fast but really not that fast. Not sure his defense is seen as anything special. He does not have an especially high walk rate either for an older player. No power as mentioned.

There are reasons the Phillies have promoted him slowly. Could he be the rare older player that develops into a major league bench piece? Sure. But the way the Phillies have handled him means they don't really believe in the tools. Probably see him as a Ben Revere who is not as fast or as good defensively.

He doesn't have power but he does walk. Jordan: “I like the guy a lot. It was very good pick by our guys to get a player that’s a plus runner, plus arm and plus on the bases."

Coppola played at SD State, not exactly a mecca for college players, so he's probably not as experienced as someone from a Southern college.
