This list is realistic and fair, IMHO.

BA favors tools over performance and has their "favorites", though Moniak was one of them so we see how quickly things can change.

My main takeaway: 7 in the top 100 is a great thing and portends a brighter future for the big league lineup, though future success is certainly much farther away than was hoped before the season, mostly on account of the big league club's lack of hitters who project as regulars on a playoff team. Herrera's and Franco's seasons point toward the Phils having to find two more hitters than we thought we needed to find.

Definitely a good showing though one could also argue that Crawford and Alfaro really should have graduated by now. I am hopeful though that all 4 of the LHV prospects will be in the starting lineup next year (by June anyway) if not by September of this year.

Only the Braves, with 9, have more prospects in the Top 100 than do the Phils. The Yankees, who I still believe are great potential trade partners with the Phils, also have 7. I think the Braves have done a phenomenal job of rebuilding and if there is one team that serves as an indictment to how the Phils are rebuilding, it would be the Braves.

They have been much more aggressive than have the Phils, without nearly the financial resources, new stadium or not.

You can make an argument that the Braves who committed to rebuilding just like we did after 2014 had a head start over us by having considerably more valuable ML assets to cash in for young talent or draft picks. Guys like Heyward (who brought in Miller who, in turn, brought in the Braves shortstop and centerfielder of the future), Simmons, J.Upton, Kimbrel and Santana (who became a draft pick when he left as a free agent). By contrast, we had veterans who were on the downside and/or tied to crippling long-term contracts.

Bullpens in Reading, Clearwater, and Lakewood all got tattooed tonight. I suppose if those clubs are gonna lose, that's not the worst way to lose from a prospect standpoint. No offense to them, but the John Richy's and Matt Hockenberry's and the Tyler Hallead's are pretty fungible in the organization's grand scheme of things.

Starting to see a $4 million hitter in Ortiz. Much better control of the strike zone this year and to see this much power in an 18-year-old is uncommon. Haseley looks ready to move up shortly (and really Matos deserves a chance to play as he is also a prospect.)

Meanwhile Hall is up to .280 and 16 HRs, but I forgot, he's not a prospect!

He's got to be in the top 30, maybe top 20 based on performance. If he hits 25 or 30 HR in LAK that's absolutely astounding given their park and league.

Darick Hall is definitely interesting as a prospect. Doesn't turn 22 until the end of this month, so he is very age appropriate. Last year he led Williamsport players in OPS by a large margin and doing the same at Lakewood this season. Not that I'm holding Cord Sandberg up as a serious prospect, but interesting that Hall is almost 7 months younger and beats Sandberg's Lakewood stats by 170 OPS points. Hall needs to walk a little more, but definitely a prospect. Close to top 20 for me, certainly top 25. I'm watching his stats.
