Rumor is that Sixto Sanchez is being promoted to Clearwater.
Kilome and Sanchez on the same staff. I don't know who our best pitching coach is (or even if we have a good one), but whoever it is send them to Clearwater immediately.
Not sure how good he is, but Aaron Fultz is the Clearwater pitching coach. In his playing career he had one good season and it was with the Phillies
With the whole minor league complex being based in Clearwater I imagine that team has access to lots of coaching resources if they need them. It looks like they are setting up Clearwater to compete for the playoffs now. Would not be shocked if they move up a bat like Hall as well. Probably not Moniak but at least somebody to help on the offensive side.
SS Jose Gomez with a rehab start for the GCL Phillies today
LHP Elniery Garcia with the rehab start as well
Could Sixto open next season in Reading??? Or is it back to Clearwater?
Considering the Phillies m.o., he'll start at Clearwater with a promotion to Reading at midseason at the earliest.
Muzziotti continues to hit, with 2 hits already, including a double, as GCL is tied 3-3 in the 8th. Muzziotti doesn't walk as much as we'd like, but the guy hardly ever Ks. I think we managed to steal a good one.
4-3 loss for GCL--Ramon Rosso followed Elniery Garcia for GCL, both pitched effectively although each yielded a run. 13 hits and only 3 runs--2 caught stealing by Gurrola were costly.
Sanchez it is:
Part of me wants to push Rosso up another level to see if he is for real. There is an opening in Lakewood now so they could fill that from Williamsport (more likely someone like Julian Garcia than Young).
Not the best of nights for Mr. Irvin tonight at Reading.
...nor for Mr. Eshelman up in Buffalo.
But a good one for Kilome...and to a lesser extent, Falter. Not sure what the heck happened to Irvin and Eshelman, though I wonder if Eshelman is still hurt.
Alastre making a case to be promoted, or at least moved up the lineup.Hall now has 21 HRs at Lakewood.FItch doesn't look like the promotion presents any problems for hm.
Ya'll wil want to see this Double Play: Shame the board doesnt play video in the tweets
And not sure if this was mentioned or even if it matters... but Lakewood Blueclaws have a new owner:
The BlueClaws franchise was previously owned by Joe Finley and Craig Stein. Finley & Stein still own the IronPigs while Stein owns a piece of the Fightin' Phils (Phillies own the rest) and Finley owns Trenton. And, the new owner of the BlueClaws once owned Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. All Phillies or Yankees affiliates. It's a web!
