He wasn't the only one to swing at a first pitch in the last couple innings when the M's had the huge lead. Didn't seem to be a team wide strategy to take a strike.

Not exactly the break from a tough NL/road stretch the Phillies were supposed to enjoy. But the Mariners are probably gonna end up being pretty good, and it's always tougher to face an AL line-up.

Hard to play musical relievers w/o room on the 40, which is why Thompson came up in the first place (though they did choose Leiter over the journeymen options).

Garcia is probably eligible to come back up by now and it wouldn't surprise me if Gomez doesn't pitch for the Phillies again, whether via the DL or a DFA.
