Scroll back up the thread to December and there is an article from the Athletic on him and how the Phillies signed him. Having a Brazilian family probably made him much more likely to be the rare HS age Japanese player to sign with MLB because he has family in this hemisphere. The other Japanese HS players signed have been top prospects trying to avoid the Japanese system which could tie up their rights for up to a decade before they are allowed into the posting system.
Interesting story and we did sign him out of school in Japan and that is something by the organization. But the other side is he is just another raw HS pitcher throwing 91-92 that we hope projects to more than that.
