I have mixed feelings in that regard. On the one hand, you don't want to put your season on the line in a super-short series. On the other hand, I doubt sitting around for a week without playing is really good for you, especially in a game like baseball where flow, rhythm and repetition are so important. Last year was the first year in the current Postseason format in which a majority of teams which had the WC round bye won the NLDS round (Phillies were the only bye losers). In 2022 and 2023, WC round winners won three out of four NLDS's. Other than having homefield advantage, it makes me wonder if the bye is really any kind of advantage.
Wild Card teams often did well in the Postseason even when there was just one Wild Card and I often thought that a big part of the reason why was that they were playing for their lives--sometimes all the way up to game 162--and then got matched up with the team which finished with the league's best record but wrapped up their division and Postseason berth at least a week earlier and were playing largely meaningless games since. As a result, the favored team seemingly had to try to flip an "on" switch against a team which came in sharper and hotter than they were.
