Nola has not been very good today, but if the bats continue to be this impotent, this season is essentially over.

I was just thinking anecdotally earlier that it seems like Nola doesn't pitch well against the Nationals. So, I went to baseball reference and sure enough, lifetime against the Nationals he's 6-6 3.86 ERA, clearly a comedown from his performance against the rest of the division.
Oh, and Trea Turner is a freakin' Phillie killer. .279/.335/.489/.824, 13 HR (more than against anyone else). As Harry would say, "He's really worn down the Phillies throughout his career."

Voth had a pretty good start against the Rays his last time out. Phillies seem to catch pitchers at the wrong time.
Bryce Harper
Ball (91.7 mph four-seam fastball)Swinging strike (76.7 mph curveball)In play, out(s) (84.1 mph splitter)
Bryce Harper grounds out, first baseman Brock Holt to pitcher Austin Voth.
Voth may be on the upswing, but the fact is, both the Nationals' starters in these two games started the game with an ERA over 7. Not scoring more against Sanchez and Voth is a clear indication to be that the Phillies' offense is struggling.

Well, that was disappointing.
Phillies fall below .500 for the season.
Hopes of post season play take another step back.
Five games left is the season. Phillies must win 4 of the 5 to have a winning season; 3 of 5 to finish at .500
David Hale with the start in game 2. He was actually pretty good in this role last time until they left him in for the 4th.
JT is at DH. Bryce still in RF.
