Why would they send Rupp to the plate with NO outs? Crazy. Out easily at the plate. Absolutely awful coaching.

Even if the call is overturned, it is an awful play. Catcher had the ball well ahead of Rupp and the only question is whether or not he made the tag.

The telecast was wondering before the play if they should have pinch run for Rupp.

I think the thing to do was to hold Rupp at third and put runners second and third with no outs. With no outs, don't send Rupp home unless it is clear he can make it. The ball got to the catcher on the relay well ahead of Rupp. Of course we don't know what happens if Rupp had been held on that play, but regardless, IMO, sending Rupp was a clear mistake.
