Ironicly, the Phillies came within a strike of winning the game. Covey almost pulled it off and if Turner keeps the runner from scoring from second, the Phillies probably win as Covey gets the next batter out.
But the only thing that counts is the loss.
Covey only had one blown save. The Phillies did not score in the 12th, so they didn't have a lead to blow. Covey just lost the game in the 12th. He does get a loss and a blown save for the game. I do think a pitcher can have more than one blown save in a game. Had the Phillies scored a run in the 12th, I'm pretty sure we would have seen that happen tonight.
